We source our hickory from a supplier in Tennessee that was supplying hickory to the manufactures back in the 20s & 30s. We take in hickory boards, then painstakingly turn them into dowels, which we check for zero imperfections (wormholes, knots, etc.), strength and straightness ofgrain. We then sonicallytest the shafts using our proprietary process. Finally, we run these selected shafts through our custom wood lathe, sorting them for stiffness, which allows us tocategorize them for flexibility.
