Charles Addams illustrated the cover, which shows an AVG Flying Tiger plane and other WWII combat scenes in the style of traditional Chinese blue and white porcelain. This issue include the first published appearance of the James Thurber story “The Catbird Seat,” an archetypal Addams Family cartoon showing Morticia and Gomez (this is their first cartoon together)
